In Belgrade and other major cities in Serbia is expected to build 10,000 affordable apartments. Currently, most residential complexes in Belgrade, built in the central regions. Cost per square meter in such homes hovers around € 2300-3500. The Serbian authorities intend to eliminate "bias" toward the elite housing through the promotion of social projects, according to a report CB Richard Ellis. The decree was issued by the Government earlier this year. According to him, developers will be able to get construction loans at low interest rates. The cost of affordable housing should not exceed € 700-1600 sq. m depending on the location of the object. In general, the demand for housing in the country is growing in comparison with last year, which reflects the dynamics of the volume of mortgage lending. In March, this figure increased by 12% compared to the same month in 2009. Recall that in December the annual rate of growth of outstanding mortgages was 28%.
